Red squirrel decoration, felted red squirrel

Needle felted squirrel, which has been mounted onto a wood slice.

The squirrel has been made from Merino & Shetland wool (the tail has a piece of pipe cleaner at its core to help the structure, around which I've felted wool). The base is a rustic slice of oak, which has been sanded, but it hasn't been waxed. I applied sealant to it). The diameter of the wood is approx. 10cms. Wood from Handcraftedatnumber8.

The squirrel has been attached to the wood with non-toxic glue. I also glued some lichen (foraged from a forest, then dried) to the wood slice. The height of the decoration, from the base of the wood to the top of the squirrel, is approx. 14cms.
